Where in Korea have you been to?
<Gyeonghuigung Palace>
Last but not least, the fifth royal palace is Gyeonghuigung palace.
Gyeonghuigung palace has also gone through a lot of difficulties.
In 1829 most of the buildings were burnt away and so it was renovated in 1831.
It has also been at many different places and finally stands in one of the busiest areas of Seoul.

This is Honghwa gate, Gyeonghuigung's main gate.
The gate used to be located where the Korean Salvation Army building stands today.
Because it could not return to its original spot, it has been placed next to the Seoul Museum of History.

Once you enter Honghwa gate, there will be another gate, Soongjung gate that leads to the main hall of the palace.

This is Soongjeong hall, the main hall of the palace.
However, what we see in the palace is not the original Soongjeong hall.
The original hall, which was built in 1618 is currently a part of Dongguk University as "Jeonggakwon".
